I would give this book 3 for a review.

New York Times bestselling author Meagan Spooner spins a thoroughly thrilling Beauty and the Beast story for the modern age, expertly woven with spellbinding romance, intrigue, and suspense that readers won’t soon be able to forget.

Beauty knows the Beast's forest in her bones—and in her blood. After all, her father is the only hunter who’s ever come close to discovering its secrets. So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters out of their comfortable home among the aristocracy and back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there’s no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas…or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva’s father’s misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he’d been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance. The Beast.

Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange creature back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of magical creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin, or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?

My thoughts!

I enjoyed this book but I did not love it. I did not feel as connected to the characters as I wanted to be. I love the premise but the characters just did not capture my heart as I wanted them to. I enjoyed how the story used the Gaston character in a different way and really spun more magic into the story. I did enjoy the couple but their romance did not blow me and away and it did have elements of insta love at the very start of the story.

Hope you will check it out!

Seventeen-year-old Violet has always been expected to sit back and let the boys do all the saving

Yet when her dad is killed carrying out Terror business, Violet knows it's up to her to do the saving. But when a rival club comes after Violet, exposing old secrets and making new threats, she's forced to question what she thought she knew about her father, the Reign of Terror and what she thinks she wants. Which means reevaluating everything: love, family, friends…and forgiveness.

Caught in the crosshairs between loyalty and freedom, Violet must decide whether old friends can be trusted—and if she's strong enough to be the one person to save them all.

My thoughts!

I have been waiting for this book. I always loved the character of violet and chevy. This book took you on emotional ride. It not only was such a different story then we saw in the first books in the series but it also showed how different these characters became. I love the romance and I also love how these characters interacted with the club. I loved how we were able to see he story through both characters POV and I was hooked. It also had enough cameos that you felt like you touched in with all the other characters in the series and there was a large crossover between this series and pushing the limits series!

Hope you will check it out!

An epic, romantic, and action-packed fantasy inspired by the tale of Rumpelstiltskin, about a bastard princess who must take on an evil fae to save her brother’s soul, from C. J. Redwine, the New York Times bestselling author of The Shadow Queen. Perfect for fans of Graceling and the Lunar Chronicles.

The world has turned upside down for Thad and Ari Glavan, the bastard twins of Súndraille’s king. Their mother was murdered. The royal family died mysteriously. And now Thad sits on the throne of a kingdom whose streets are suddenly overrun with violence he can’t stop.

Growing up ignored by the nobility, Ari never wanted to be a proper princess. And when Thad suddenly starts training Ari to take his place, she realizes that her brother’s ascension to the throne wasn’t fate. It was the work of a Wish Granter named Alistair Teague who tricked Thad into wishing away both the safety of his people and his soul in exchange for the crown.

So Ari recruits the help of Thad’s enigmatic new weapons master, Sebastian Vaughn, to teach her how to fight Teague. With secret ties to Teague’s criminal empire, Sebastian might just hold the key to discovering Alistair’s weaknesses, saving Ari’s brother—and herself.

But Teague is ruthless and more than ready to destroy anyone who dares stand in his way—and now he has his sights set on the princess. And if Ari can’t outwit him, she’ll lose Sebastian, her brother…and her soul.

5 Reasons to read The Wish Granter

I've been orphaned by my time.

The timeline has changed.

My future is gone.

Etta Spencer didn't know she was a traveler until the day she emerged both miles and years from her home. Now, robbed of the powerful object that was her only hope of saving her mother, Etta finds herself stranded once more, cut off from Nicholas-the eighteenth century privateer she loves-and her natural time.

When Etta inadvertently stumbles into the heart of the Thorns, the renegade travelers who stole the astrolabe from her, she vows to finish what she started and destroy the astrolabe once and for all. Instead, she's blindsided by a bombshell revelation from their leader, Henry Hemlock: he is her father. Suddenly questioning everything she's been fighting for, Etta must choose a path, one that could transform her future.

Still devastated by Etta's disappearance, Nicholas has enlisted the unlikely help of Sophia Ironwood and a cheeky mercenary-for-hire to track both her and the missing astrolabe down. But as the tremors of change to the timeline grow stronger and the stakes for recovering the astrolabe mount, they discover an ancient power far more frightening than the rival travelers currently locked in a battle for control. . . a power that threatens to eradicate the timeline altogether.

From colonial Nassau to New York City, San Francisco to Roman Carthage, imperial Russia to the Vatican catacombs, New York Times #1 best-selling author Alexandra Bracken charts a gorgeously detailed, thrilling course through time in this stunning conclusion to the Passenger series.

My Thoughts:

This story came to an end in such a pretty way and the writing is still so well crafted and that has largely thanks to how Alex crafted the story. I really loved the new characters that we met and also the impact that they had on the main leads. The story had a super complicated plot and that is why I will be re-reading this book in the future. The book being so long, did drag at points but the mostly due to the complicated plot. I think re-reads will help with this issue. I loved the impact of the unexpected groupings had on the story growth and the focus on friendship and less on romance. I also loved all the time periods we visited and the insight we got on the character of rose. It was a very nice conclusion for this series.

In one devastating night, violin prodigy Etta Spencer loses everything she knows and loves. Thrust into an unfamiliar world by a stranger with a dangerous agenda, Etta is certain of only one thing: she has traveled not just miles, but years from home. And she's inherited a legacy she knows nothing about from a family whose existence she's never heard of. Until now.

Nicholas Carter is content with his life at sea, free from the Ironwoods-a powerful family in the Colonies-and the servitude he's known at their hands. But with the arrival of an unusual passenger on his ship comes the insistent pull of the past that he can't escape and the family that won't let him go so easily. Now the Ironwoods are searching for a stolen object of untold value, one they believe only Etta, his passenger, can find. In order to protect her, Nick must ensure she brings it back to them-whether she wants to or not.

Together, Etta and Nicholas embark on a perilous journey across centuries and continents, piecing together clues left behind by the traveler who will do anything to keep the object out of the Ironwoods' grasp. But as they get closer to the truth of their search, and the deadly game the Ironwoods are playing, treacherous forces threaten to separate Etta not only from Nicholas but from her path home forever..

My Thoughts:

This story is so beautifully told and half of the beauty is on the re-read. I want to re-read this story because the sequel is coming out. I loved this book the first time that I read it but the world building is complicated and with the time travel elements involved, I think re-reading this story makes it clearer. The characters were such strength of this novel and that is half of because the diversity we saw through the character of Nicholas. At the heart of this story, it is a romance but I enjoy it because it had time to built throughout the story and it was not insta-love in any way. I highly recommend that you read this two part series back to back because I enjoyed the novel much better when I did that.

Book in a pinch: Wonderland Retelling with a wicked twist

Go into this one knowing

It has a very heavy romantic plot but such a good read.

HOOK

The story easily captured my attention because I loved the main character at the start of the novel. As a reader we know who the queen of hearts is in wonderland so knowing the path I was on made me want to read this a fast as I could.

SETTING / WORLD BUILDING

The world building built so well on the wonderland that we see in Alice in wonderland but makes it unique and different but still works back to the normal story. I loved the world building in this book.

  • FLOW / PACING

This book did have slower pace but that was fine because it let me sink into the world through both the world building and the characters. It was a read that really let me fall into the world and fall in love with the story.

CHARACTERS

Cath made me love this story because she was so complicated. It is def. that shows you the opposite side of queen of hearts and even makes you feel bad for her and I love that in a story when you understand how the queen of hearts was created.

THE ENDING

It was the ending I expected but it still broke my heart

It is a thriller book with unexpected twists along the way.

HOOK

By the end of the third chapter I was hooked and wanted to keep reading. Once the world was discussed I was hooked and needed to read more. I enjoy how the story balance both character, story and world building to give me a good experience.

SETTING / WORLD BUILDING

The world building in this book was so important and that is why it was a bit slower to read this novel. The world is so different then our world so a lot needs to be explained to us but I loved how the world was built so well.

  • FLOW / PACING

The pace was mostly fast but with slow parts thrown in and that mostly was used to built the world for the reader. The book also uses the pacing to build/ hide some secrets from the audience that becomes obvious at the end.

CHARACTERS

I enjoy when books have a trio of characters the really carry the story and I enjoyed it in this book. It was very obvious the something was not right in this story but the characters is what I kept wanting to learn more about and excited to see them again in another books in the future.

The end of the book was a game changer and I am excited to see where the story goes next

It does fall into some of the typical dystopia troupes but does them in a unique way.

HOOK

This book immediately captured my attention the second I met Tom. I had to know what was happening to him and where he was. The story started off with a bang and did not stop until the end of he novel.

SETTING / WORLD BUILDING

The world building is very important in this story and also since we visited many different locations especially towards the end and they all were so well explained and I love being exposed to such a new world. It was a very well-build world and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next in the series.

  • FLOW / PACING

This is a very quick pace novel and It really was like train going along the tracks so fast and it did not have much breaks but it still allowed us to get to know the characters on a individual level and it made me not only care about the big picture but also about the characters.

CHARACTERS

I think Thomas is one of my favorite Male characters. I enjoyed him so much because he is such a complex character because of what happen in he past and I loved all the others that we met in the novel. They are all so funny and unique and loved meeting them in this novel.

Book in a pinch: The prefect sequel to Dash and Lily Book of Dares,

Go into this one knowing

It is still a romance at the heart of the novel but a darker story in some ways.

Ask Yourself these types of questions HOOK

It took me a little bit more time to get into this story but once Dash made his holiday plan I was hooked. The character of Lily changed much more then Dash, so her chapter did not captured me as much towards the start of the novel. I understand why that happened but it made me grow even more love dash throughout this book.

SETTING / WORLD BUILDING

New york was once again another character and it really became another character in this story and I love how the kept building the world.

  • FLOW / PACING
  • This story pacing was a little bit slower but I still enjoyed it I liked how the story pacing still kept me engaged and pushed me to get to the end of the story.

CHARACTERS

The characters did change in this novel and I enjoyed those changes because I thought they could happen in real life. Lily change did make me sad because I felt for her character but towards the end of the novel I understand how complex her life was becoming. It made sense how lost she felt and how even Dash could not help. I grew to love dash even more and still love them as a couple.

THE ENDING

It was a cute ending with a little bit more heart to it.

Book in a pinch: Very odd fantasy retelling

Go into this one knowing

It is a un clear story that may go over your head and you may need to re-read this story to get the whole picture.

Ask Yourself these types of questions HOOK

It took a while for me to get hooked into this story because it was so odd. Once she was trapped in the story I wanted to see how the story would end but it was so complex and very un clear that much of the story went over my head.

SETTING / WORLD BUILDING

The world building in the story was very complex and It took awhile to really learn what this world was that you were in. The audience is at slight disadvantage because they have no concept for this world and the main character does. I am still not totally sure I fully get the world but it was super cool to read about.

It story with s big focus on the romance.

Ask Yourself these types of questions HOOK

I was hooked from page one. I LOVE summer romances with Hollywood connection and this one hooked me even more when Dee became a PA on the movie set, I loved seeing the relationship develop that way.

SETTING / WORLD BUILDING

I love the setting of both the small town and also the movie set. I really felt like It could be an actual movie set and that the world building made me feel like this place actually existed and I also like the elements of small southern town that we had been exposed to.

  • FLOW / PACING
  • This is super face pace novel and only took me a day to read. It was a story that had to know how it would play out as quickly as I could.

CHARACTERS

I really loved both of the main characters and wanted them to be happy. I love how we saw so much self-discovery changes occurred for this character and I felt that they were well-rounded characters the romance was a big focus of this novel but no their only focus and I liked that a lot.

THE ENDING

We had a ending with conclusion and I loved books that give you that moment and explains what happens after the so called prefect ending.

Book in a pinch: War between Magical sisters for the Crown.

Go into this one knowing

It is book one in a series. The story is told from three different point of views.

Ask Yourself these types of questions HOOK

  • I was hooked into this story after I met all three sisters. I loved learning not only about each of them but also about the powers and their strengths and weakness after I met each of them and was introduced to their world. I had to read more. Each sister was so well rounded from their first chapter I had to learn more about the characters.
  • SETTING / WORLD BUILDING
  • The world building to this story was so important because it is the first book in the series. You were as a reader thrust into this world and then you uncovered the world as you went along. The way you learned about the world felt natural and I was not overwhelmed as a reader and most of my questions were answered.
  • FLOW / PACING
  • I thought the flow of the story was a very soild and I had a hard time putting the book down because I had to know what happened.

CHARACTERS

  • This book is very female heavy and the only men you really see are the boy the girls interact with. The female power of leadership is so strong in this book and men have limited political control. I also really love all the female characters and the friendships we are exposed to. I don’t have a favorite character so far because meeting them all has been so fun.
  • CONFLICT
  • I love the conflict because you knew what the end point is but you had no clue how the story would progress and the sisters meeting and the showing of their powers and what would happen really made me stay on the end of my feet.

THE ENDING

The ending really shocked me in regards to what we learned about the girls powers and I can’t wait for book 2.
